Hello! My name is Rebecca Pochon and I live in Raleigh with my husband, our son, and our pup. My husband and I have known each other since middle school and were married in October 2016. In 2018, our family grew, as we welcomed our baby boy Kai into the world. I enjoy reading, traveling, cooking, painting, and any outdoor activities! I am so excited to be your child's ELA teacher for the 2019-2020 school year. This is my fourth year teaching, and my third year at Highcroft. I am looking forward to partnering with you to ensure that your child has a fun and successful fifth grade year!
My Education:
I graduated from NC State University with a B.S in Elementary Education with a S.T.E.M concentration. During my time at NC State, my student teaching was split between Reedy Creek Elementary and the Beijing Royal Foreign Language School in China. I began my teaching career at Lakewood Elementary in Durham, NC where I taught ELA and Social Studies. In my time at Lakewood I was honored to win Beginning Teacher of the Year for Durham County.
